Date Night: Shopping + Dinner at Banana Leaf + Movies

I feel like Saturday is the busiest day of my week since I went back to the university. It’s the day that I go to UP in the morning (after my work if I get really unfortunate to be working on night shift that week, which happens a lot), try to get some sleep in the afternoon, do the groceries, do the laundry, and sneak in some me time at night.

So last Saturday, despite all the business I had – gym, UP, sleep, a little shopping, laundry and groceries – I still managed to book some date time for Boiffie.

And we bought ticket to watch The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. It was 8pm then and the next screening at 9.40pm was full so we had no choice but to get the last full show at 12mn instead. IKR.

It’s okay though because it bought as some time to roam around and window-shopped. Unfortunately for me I bought three items from Zara – a floral jumpsuit, a floral skirt and a long blue-striped button-down shirt. I said I will not buy any clothes this month but phew I just can’t resist it T______T. I hate sale.

So here’s what I bought (I forgot to take a photo of the button-down shirt):

And then after that we had dinner at Banana Leaf. This restaurant is located at Greenbelt 3 and is serving Southeast Asian cuisines.

Boiffie and I had Fried Tilapia in Malayan Cream Sauce and Chicken and Eggplant in Thai Curry. We also had Chicken and Mango salad for appetizer.

After dinner, Boiffie requested that we eat some frozen yogurt. He loves frozen yogurt, I hate him. So we went to Red Mango – I had a medium-sized original yogurt with mochi balls and crushed chocolates, he got a medium-sized original yogurt with mango bits. The mochi balls are 100% yum! You should try it. :’)

Red Mango was jam-packed that time, we don’t know where to sit because there’s no more sit anywhere! Fortunately though I saw Jehz in the crowd! Wooot I missed Jehz :’) He’s with his two highschool friends and they let us share table with them. Wooot!

After finishing our yogurt, Boiffie and I still have more or less an hour before our movie starts. So I sweetly persuaded him to play at Timezone. He took out his Timezone card and I swiped it over the counter to check how much balance it has. Yeay to us it has around 250++ credits! And he’s not even aware it has credits!

We played like kids and I totally enjoyed it. I went home with a pink-striped Hello Kitty bee stuffed toy and named it B-bee! Kawaii much!!

O hai there. Not now, I'm working. =p

O hai there.

Poor blog, no updates for more than a month. Obviously I am too busy to take care of my blogs anymore. There’s a bunch of stuff going on recently and hell, I barely have time for myself, what else left for my blogs.

So now I am stealing some precious 10-minute from my busy work schedule while I got stuck with this one email. I know that sounds exaggerated but hell yes, I am telling you, the work schedule is crazy. I got two hands full and if my feet can hold tasks, they’d be overflowing too. Haha =P

So what’s up with me, you asked, eh? So here’s what you’ve missed, or rather what I have missed to tell you:

I went to Davao last month with my Nyok friends, which deserves a very long post but I don’t have time.
I went to Sagada last April with random people from Couch Surfers, and Benj and Ozy, which also deserves a long post but I don’t have time.
I had a date with my college best girl friends ever – Malen, Melai and Roanne, two or three weeks ago, and if you don’t know it yet, it’s not like we guys hang out with each other that often, not even every other month so if we do it really is something special and deserving of a post, but I don’t have time.
I have been noticing an invasion of Longchamp bags since I got one (which Aaron bought from Paris). Everyone has a Longchamp bag!!! Amf.
I’m going back to UP, and classes will start next week. And no, it’s part-time only. I’m tasking up MS CS and I’m excited about it. Also, I got a scholarship grant from ERDT (Eng’g Research and Development for Technology) which includes a 200,000 research grant. But boo me, I declined to accept it because I don’t want to resign and leave work. And yes, it deserves a long post. Not now.
I have been going on a shopping spree. I personally call it depression shopping. When I’m upset, I shop. Now I got a bill higher than a mountain.
I colored my hair. I said I want something like chocolate red, I’m not sure if they were able to achieve it. It’s supposed to help me look more tan. I went to Basement Salon by the way. I highly recommend it. Look for Chris.

Pfut Pfut was born last night

His name is Pfut Pfut and he loves to squirt water out of his small beak. And yes, he's a penguin.

I got him from McDonalds, McKinley Hill. He’s cute, isn’t he? Now I have another thing that won’t leave me.

People leave you. Friends bail out on you — sometimes they can’t even notice that you need them. But these things — stuffed toys, happy meal toys, and even pillows — they won’t leave you, unless you throw them away.

And yes, I need a life. Srsly.

Friday Night out with officemates

Friday. May 22. Much late post.

I will just do this in bullet form because I’m to stoned to stitch paragraph

Afternoon. At IPI Tower, Buendia. For some company gathering. The highlight of this day. After the program for our company thing, Kaye and I went up to the higher roof deck ( I dunno what that’s called ). I dunno what’s with me but I’m all energy; I was running around commenting non-stop about the most random stuff there is. I was all like this -> and Kaye bursted “Ang ingay mo!” and I was “Zippppped!” . Her intension was just to say that why on earth I was too hyped and all, but it really sounded like a big “Shut Up!”. And yes, with exclamation point. LOL Kaye.
Night. At Megamall Bowling Center. Teammates and I went to play two rounds of bowling. Akshully, I was only able to catch the second round. And I am so happy that I reached a score of 85. My average play is below 50. Now I’m getting used to the game, I’m gaining expertise LOL
Late Night. Kaye, Franz and I went to Megamall Starbucks to hang out for a while. We talked much about work related stuff. There were funny moments of course. We wished Hanna was there. That was because there’s a time way way back in February we went to Sidebar, the four of us.

That’s it for teh over-overdue post. Meh.

Friday Night out With Sisters

ME and My College Bestfriend, Roanne

Last friday, my sisters Malen, Melai and Roanne went out for a lovely bonding night. It has been a long time since the four of us spent time together. I think the last was during Melai’s birthday October 2 2007. I know, that was ages ago. So I was really glad we finally found the time to be complete, for once in a while.

We had dinner at Gotti’s, The Atrium SM Megamall. With us was Fabs, Malen’s boiffie. My boiffie Aaron was supposed to join us too but he has to leave for a meeting at 9PM and the girls arrived a quarter before nine. We had Godfather’s pizza, carbonara and a red pasta ( I forgot what wuz it heeee ). We ate and chatted and joked around. And took pictures. Heeee

Why do I always have to be the one to look the wackiest?

After dinner, we decided to hang out at Starbucks Shang-ri la Mall. On our way out of Atrium, we saw David Cook on his way to Häagen-Dazs.

Malen, Cai, Melai and Roanne were all sad and disappointed because they weren't able to get really close to David Cook. To hug him. To kiss him. To jiggin him. LOL

We stayed at Starbucks until the wee hours in the morning. The boiffie Aaron also dropped by to hang out with us. It was soooo fun, I swear. I really missed being with them. I feel really blessed to have these wonderful ladies to be my ever supportive, ever loving, and ever beautiful best friends.

Another Film Experience – A Blogger-studded Movie

Kuya Bunso

I have made three short films, two of those I directed myself and I have only the slightest idea how difficult it was to act until this fourth film, where I cast as one of the two primary characters.

My friend Mica just finished filming her first ever short film. She wrote the script last year, produced and directed the movie last January, and even cast as an impromptu supporting actress during the second shooting day!

Jackie (Cai) and Jess (Jehz). Parang mga minor lang.

The project became possible because Mica is surrounded by loving and talented friends (ehem ehem). Two of her bestfriends casts the main roles – Jehz Laurente as Kuya Jess the elder autistic brother, and Cai Abbass (yours truly) as Jackie the younger sister of Jess. Supporting roles are also played by Mica’s closest friends: Winston Almendras as Rommel, Jackie’s suitor, who did a great job enduring six power slaps on his left cheek; Ed Arevalo as (originally) Uncle Rey who, after some takes, became Kuya Rey; Ada Lajara who superbly played the role of Jam, the lesbian cousin of Jess and Jackie; Jhelo Cruz, the impromptu cast who just happened to pass by for a while in the location, played as Uno, the other cousin; and Sire Arevalo who played two extra roles.

Bonding moments

Mica was lucky to have Mr Buddy Gancenia of Philippine Wedding as the Director of Photography in exchange of a practical deal. Gancenia is an expert in wedding coverage. It was fun working with him, he got along with other people just fine.

Other people who helped in the production are Liz Buenaventura and Josh Liao, a wonderful talented sweet couple.

My experience? Totally awesome. I was really humbled working with these peepz. They did great. Jehz is a natural “special kid” actor. I was blown away by Ada’s acting prowess. Liz is a gifted artist. Everyone is friendly and motivated. It was sure a fun-filled weekend shooting.

I am excited for the next project that we are planning. I have already done a love story, a sci-fi, and two drama. Next, thriller.
